Honestly, sometimes I don’t like “those stylish men”. Why do they have to look so well-dressed every time and everywhere?

When I tried to be stylish (or well, maybe tried to copy them), I just couldn’t crack the code.

Are there any secrets that they’re following, that we don’t know about?

Well, yes there are!

I had to do something about it, so I did some serious research. And guess what? I’ve put together the largest list on the planet.

Some tips are too obvious. Some new.

The best part?

They work.

Because there are a lot of trashy articles and baseless style/fashion advice on the internet (especially on big websites). They’re focused on models, dudes with really good looks and in the end, they literally sell you ridiculously overpriced trash (which they call fashionable clothes).

So, I wrote this post for regular guys, like you and me, who are looking for some basic style advice.

Let’s begin!

22 Style Fundamentals Every Man Need to Follow

STYLEFUNDAMENTALS

1. Knowledge is more important than money

Your brain is the biggest asset when it comes to style. Either you can randomly buy clothes or have the knowledge to dress smartly for less money and be strategic about your clothes. You can master the basics and look more stylish than 95% of the men, with the same amount of money.

2. Dress your age

Don’t dress like a teenager if you’re an adult and vice versa. Dress in a way that separates you from a boy, signifies your profession and intentions towards others. If you’re older than 40, don’t wear distressed or faded denim, hoodies, shorter trending suits (stick with classic cut suits) and so on.

3. Style & fashion are not the same

Style serves a long-time purpose. Fashion is more about trends, which is always shifting and changing. Fashion is what’s in the stores right now, but not a year after. Your style is tailored to you, your personal expression and what makes your personality.

easique instagram stay in style because personality isn't the first thing people see

4. Basics first, trends second

Have the essentials and building blocks of your wardrobe, which I’ll talk about throughout the post. Then add the ones that have limited mixing ability, are trendy and one-off items.

5. A wardrobe is built, not bought

It can’t be bought wholly from the market at once, even if you spend a lot of money. You start with the basics, a few pieces and add more clothes from time to time. Every item is strategically kept and replaced when a fresh new item is bought, which should fit you and look better.

6. Have more than a few “comfy” clothes

It is best to limit the number of hoodies, graphic tees, and running shoes to one or two pairs, to look great even around the house.

7. Stay updated with the trends

Don’t wear clothes that are off-trend. Notice what is being sold and people are wearing.

8. Expensive does not always mean good looking

A great outfit has less to do with the price and more to do with fitting, color, etc. You can make a low-priced outfit into something spectacular, which may look better than the expensive counterparts.

9. Don’t show off brand labels

Brands are great. But, avoid anything that shows too much of logos that companies are trying to brand.

10. Discount sections often have good quality clothes

These sections generally include the leftovers and off-season clothes, where you can find hidden gems. Big stores usually have an “end of the season sale” to find some crazy deals.

11. Buy pieces that are built to last

No compromise with the quality! Because quality clothes when worn signals your value and respect. Leather, wool, denim, cotton generally looks better and lasts longer than others.

12. Shop with someone

If you know someone who dresses well, take him to shop and let him pick. It will be worth it.

13. Avoid listening to women

What women say is too basic or baseless, which they get by reading any random fashion magazine. Or something they saw wearing their girlfriends’ boyfriend/husband. Women only care about women. Their logic and knowledge are limited in case of men’s style and fashion.

14. Ignore the fashion world

Fashion shows, some celebrities, and magazines are the last or maybe the worst places to look for style and outfit examples. They only want media attention. Regular working men can’t wear that kind of trendy outfits on a daily basis. Follow them if you want to experiment, but don’t forget the basics.

fashion clothes men

Another reason is that they’re selling weird stuff for too much price.

15. You can never be overdressed

Some guys think “Oh, I don’t want to look like I am showing off…” Screw that. There is nothing wrong being the best-dressed man in the room. It also doesn’t mean trying too hard and wearing too many accessories at the same time.

16. Plan your clothes, a night before

At night, most of us have time to think and decide what to wear the next day. While in the morning, we’re usually in hurry to coordinate the outfit.

17. Pressed clothes are the best kind of clothes

Nothing can beat a cleaned and well-pressed shirt. This is an absolute requirement for the rest of the clothing items like trousers and suits. No excuses accepted.

shirt pressed before after

18. Wear athletic clothing only when working out

This goes for gym clothes, socks, and running shoes.

19. Timeless style is impossible

Dressing style has changed from a hundred years ago to now and will be something else hundred years from now. Don’t stick with a particular style, it needs to be improved and updated over time.

“Abandon the set-it-and-forget-it attitude and embrace that your style is something you’ll always be changing and updating. It will never be neutral, so you might as well have your appearance be positive.” – Tanner Guzy

20. Be well dressed, at all times

Even when going out to a grocery store. No exceptions. If someone you know showed up and you’re like “Well, I don’t dress like that usually…” Don’t be that guy.

21. Only buy confident clothes

Wear clothes that make you say “Hell yeah!” Something that makes you feel good, fits your body and defines your personality.

22. Get a nice haircut and keep it fresh

Haircut contributes a lot to your overall look, even has the power to bring a drastic change. Get it cut frequently so that people don’t notice the difference.

How a Man’s Clothes Should Fit Him & Why Is It Crucial?

TO STYLEFITTING

23. Wear well-fitted clothes, at all costs

Fitting is crucial. Don’t wear clothes after getting them off the rack, like a raincoat. A well-tailored outfit is made for your body shape, exclusively. Such that, it can make you look instantly more respectable and someone who knows his style.

24. Fitted doesn’t mean tight

A fitted outfit is designed to compliment your body shape, which means you are not wearing the extra fabric. It also makes you look taller and more muscular.

25. Get one size bigger if it’s too small

Don’t get something that is just a little tight or smaller. You will look like a sausage. Sizing up is a good idea.

26. Don’t wear too large

That will make you look short and baggy. Discontinue the ones don’t fit you properly.

baggy vs fit shirt

27. Try slim fit

They are designed for muscular and slim people. Remember, slim fit is not tight, it means tapered but still be roomy.

28. Get your old big and baggy clothes fitted

The ones you really like, send them to the tailor. And, know your tailor by his name.

29. Custom-made is better than ready-made

For two reasons: Chances of it fitting you well and looking better are much higher, and it may actually cost you less or almost the same.

23 Tips to Style Your Shirts

STYLE TIPSSHIRT

30. Get the shirt fit right

While buying any kind of shirt, first look at the shoulders and make sure you get it right because it is harder to adjust later. Rest can be taken care of by the tailor.

31. Core colors always first

Start with basic and most versatile colors like white, black, sky blue, navy blue, and pink. Then experiment with different colors and textures.

32. Play with cuffs and buttons

There are different types of cuffs, but most common ones are two-button cuffs and French cuffs other than single button cuffs. Button color can also make a difference. Light colored buttons on a dark shirt will look much different than on a light-colored shirt.

cuff types

33. Have at least one white button-up shirt

It is the most versatile of all shirts and matches with anything, in any situation.

34. Have at least one plain solid tee shirt & a shirt

I know it’s too obvious, like asking your buddy to pass the sugar. But, there’s nothing more basic and crucial.

35. White shirt means white shirt

After a lot of wearing, they turn gray. If so, bleach them or throw away. Be careful, some shirts can’t be bleached.

36. V-neck shirts look better if your face shape is rounded/oval

It will balance and add contrast. Usually, they look more masculine and builds up the chest.

37. Casual collared or work shirt

These awesome shirts can be worn with everything from dress pants to jeans, under a jacket and can be paired with a wide variety. They come in solid colors, denim and in different patterns.

collar-stays-before-after

38. Collar Stays

They are meant to keep your shirt collars in correct place, crisp and ensure they lie flat against the collarbone. Buy those shirts that have collar stay pockets sewn underside of the collar. Some shirts come with plastic collar stays, which can be later replaced with metal (stainless steel) ones.

39. Henley

It is tight in the chest and shoulders and fitted through the body without being too tight, which makes it a perfect long sleeve shirt. You can also push up your sleeve to look more stylish and muscular. Make sure to unbutton one or two buttons. Sometimes, they are also available in half sleeves.

40. Polo shirt

It is a must-have for business casual. Look out for the ones that are made of soft fabric and stays longer. Get a solid colored, nicely fitting shirt and wear it tucked in or out, with jeans, shorts, chinos and dress pants.

41. Knitwear

Whether V neck or crew neck jumper/cardigan, they’re sweet for men of all ages. They work with chinos, jeans and dress pants. Layering and pairing work well and you can sometimes rock them under a suit. Always fold them for better shape and health.

42. Wear the right tee shirt sleeve length

Neither too long or short, when it’s a half sleeve shirt. Let your triceps expose.

43. Avoid shirts with big, bold logos/graphics

Those quotes and huge graphics are a big no. Not even brand logos. Leave those for kids.

graphic design tee shirts men

44. Always wear dress shirts tucked

They are too long to be worn untucked. If you still want to wear it, get it tailored. Here’s a great video to keep your shirt tucked in all day:

45. Casual collared, work or Oxford shirts are worn untucked

Because of their design. They are shorter in length and comes in style cuts.

46. Shirts when partially tucked looks good

When wearing a tee shirt, Henley or a sweater, and want to show off your sweet-ass belt, do a partial tuck. Simply tuck it fully in your pant, then pick one side and let it fall loose like it happened by mistake.

partial tuck in shirts men

47. Sweatshirt

They’re all casual and cool, but there’s no dressing up. While buying, try a smaller size and also look for the one that has some detailing on it. Avoid baggy ones.

48. Tank top

Some men don’t feel comfortable wearing them. But, it’s totally up to personal preference. If you do, always wear solid colors, untucked and the ones that fit you well. Not too loose and no nipple peeking.

49. You can’t dress up a tank top

You just can’t. There is no such thing as a “dress tank top”. That’s why they are not meant to be worn on a regular basis.

50. Avoid a crew neck under a dress shirt

That show off of your crew neck shirt does not look good.

tee shirt under shirt

51. Fold your sleeves

Practice to roll up your sleeves in different ways. It is stylish when done properly.

Here are a few ways:

52. Button-down collars are not professional

A professional suit matches with professional collar, which is not a button-down collar. A shirt with no collar buttons is professional.

12 Tips to Style Your Trousers/Pants

STYLE TIPSTROUSER

53. Black pant

The most versatile of all pants. Have both black jeans and a formal pant.

54. Dark washed jeans

Another must-have. There is nothing more rugged and irresistibly sexy than an amazing pair of jeans. Try the skinny fit, avoid if you’re not skinny.

55. Chinos

A must-have, made of cotton, incredibly versatile, can be worn both casually and professionally, in most of the occasions. They usually come in earth tones and work great with fashion sneakers, monk straps, and even flip-flops.

56. Cargo pants

They are comfortable to wear. Wear the slim fit ones because the non-slim fit ones look too big and baggy. Also, they’re like chinos, worn casually.

57. All khaki pants were not created equal

Khaki pants are great, but they come in different sizes and fits. Find the one that fits you properly.

58. Shorts

They are fun and cool for summers. Lightweight, stretchable fabric makes them comfortable to wear. Wear them with tee shirts, Henley, polo shirts, and jackets.

59. Avoid jeans with chains & stuff

If that’s your thing, go for it. But for most, plain solid colored jeans work the best.

60. Wear the right pant length

The bottom of the pant should just touch the upper shoe. If the pant length is more, it will fold. If you can see your socks while walking, they are short.

right pant length

61. Don’t wash your jeans too often

Washing tears the fabric a little every time and fades away the color. To keep them fresh, freeze them for half an hour (or keep in refrigerator) and you are good to go. Or when you do, wash them separately, inside out.

62. Fold your pants from the bottom

For some reason, it is in trends. You can show off cool socks, or no socks at all. Don’t do it on a regular basis.

jeans folded bottom

63. Get the rise right

The rise is the distance from the middle of the crotch seam to the top of the waistband. Pay more attention to it while buying pants because it can’t be easily altered. There should not be too much of bagging or too less (nobody wants to see your junk).

64. Boxer briefs are the best underwear for men

When it comes to appearance, comfort, functionality, versatility and women’s preference, boxer briefs are great. That’s they’re rated better than briefs and boxers.

4 Tips to Style Different Types of Jackets

STYLE TIPSJACKET

65. Leather jacket

Nothing’s manlier than a great leather jacket. It makes you look stronger, confident and stylish. Have one in your wardrobe because it is stylish, versatile and evergreen for years to come. Buy a perfectly-fitted classic leather jacket and avoid trendy ones as it is going to stay longer for years. Remember, lighter the leather weight, higher the quality (but not too light).

66. Sports coat

It is great if you are looking for something dressy and still stay casual. From dress shirts to V neck shirts and jeans to dress pants, they can be worn with a wide variety of clothes. Sometimes suit jackets can also be worn as a sports coat, but make sure that it is not too dressy or made of shiny fabric.

67. Outdoor wear jacket

They are lightweight jackets that are stylish, meant to be worn outdoors in winters.

68. Peacoat

One of the coolest things that you can wear in winters. They are versatile and works with jeans, chinos and dress pants. It should be well-fitted and you can always try a shorter size.

18 Tips to Style & Choose a Great Suit for You

STYLE TIPSSUIT

69. Single versus double-breasted suit

While purchasing, you are more likely to find the single-breasted ones than double-breasted because they are more expensive and more fabric is required to make them. Double-breasted suits are now a bit old school, they still look great and different when worn. But avoid them if you’re a big guy.

single vs double breasted suit

70. Two or three button jackets

These are the most common ones, but single-button and four-button jackets are also sometimes seen. Two-button jackets are usually recommended, then a three-button. However, three-button is more formal and two-button is more casual.

71. Notch, peak, or shawl lapels

The notch lapel is the most common than others. A peak lapel is more formal (usually seen on a double-breasted jacket). Shawl lapel is also formal and the least popular.

72. Charcoal gray and navy-blue colors are the best

If you are clueless about which color to buy, get these colors, without a second thought. They are evergreen, stylish and incredibly versatile. You can never go wrong with these. Also, if you have gray hair navy blue is the best option.

easique instagram charcoal grey and navy blue two great suit colors

73. Black suits

There’s always a debate about whether you should buy a black suit or not. I’d say it is good if you are the right man for it. If you have dark/black hair and fair skin, you can pull it off. Also, black suits are super formal, meant to worn in events, weddings, funerals, conferences, etc. Not a business suit. So, it’s not something you’d want to start with.

74. Tuxedo

As a tuxedo is a black suit, it is super formal, classic and meant to be worn in the evenings only. Only a bowtie is worn with a tuxedo. Usually, they are more expensive than normal suits because they require high-quality fabric, to be worn in high-status places.

75. Try a shorter size when buying

There is nothing wrong with trying a smaller one. You might find a better-fitted jacket that looks dynamite on you. Always check that the sleeve length and other lengths are right, or else, get it altered to your body shape.

76. Focus on the shoulder

Shoulders are of two types – soft and structured. Structured is more formal. Pay extra attention because the shoulder of the suit is hard to tailor. If it looks a little bit too structured, ask for a softer one. After that, you can focus on everything else.

77. Ready-made suits are rarely ever ready to wear

See, fitting is the key. The suit you’ll buy off-the-rack is not made exclusively for you. You still need to take it to the tailor for alterations.

78. Four sleeve buttons are the most common

Sometimes you will find three or five. A more designer suit is the one with kissing/overlapping buttons.

kissing nonkissing suit buttons
Click the image to zoom or click here to see the full size (opens in a new tab).

79. Double-vent looks the best

It is also the most expensive one than single vent or ventless. Ventless jackets look more fitted. Single-vent is the least expensive to make, but it exposes the back when you put your hands in the pocket. Whereas, there is no such problem with the double-vent suit and it gives the nicest look.

double vent suit jacket

80. Half-inch of the cuff should be shown

Half to a quarter inch is the sweet spot. Avoid hiding your cuff completely and too much showing. Also, the sleeve of your jacket should stop at your wrist bone.

shirt cuff sleeve suit

81. No need to dry clean after every wear

Too much of dry clean will weaken the fabric quality. Only dry clean when required, means when it’s stinky or you spilled something on it. Otherwise, your suit is cool.

82. Avoid using the outside jacket pocket of the suit

Too much use will destroy your pocket neatness. Keep your jacket tidy and in line.

83. Never button the bottom button of your suit jacket

Only the first one should be buttoned up. The bottom one is just for show.

easique instagram never button the bottom button of your suit jacket

84. When there are three buttons

First: Sometimes; Second: Always; Third: Never.

85. Unbutton your jacket when you sit down

To maintain suit health. Otherwise, keep them fastened for a better look.

86. No tags, please

Take the tags off your jacket sleeves. No brand promotion required.

15 Tips to Style Your Shoes

STYLE TIPSSHOE

87. Invest in quality shoes

The first thing that people (especially women) notice is your shoes. They say a lot about you, indicating your status and wealth. Having a great pair of shoes is a must. If you have dress shoes (Oxford), loafers, fashion sneakers, sports shoes, and boots, you have shoes for every occasion. Get the best quality you can afford.

88. Closed lacing versus open lacing

Open-laced shoes have the quarters sewn on the top of the vamp, and closed-laced shoes have the vamp sewn on top of the quarters. The open-laced shoe works for many occasions, but the closed-laced shoe is more formal.

open closed lacing shoes

89. Squared toe versus curved toe

Squared toe is what men used to wear about 200 years from now. Then the curved toe started to shift in. For the most men, the curved toe is a better option because they fit better. In the squared toe shoe, the toe box, in general, is larger, which is good for men with wider feet.

Square Toe Vs CurveToe tall

90. Dress shoes

You need at least two. Start with Oxfords and Bluchers where Bluchers are more casual than Oxfords. They both have a classic, simple and have an elegant look. Wear them with suits, jeans, slacks or chinos. A shinier dress shoe should be worn with suits and dress wear. A shoe with a matte finish can be worn with a variety from super dressy to casual. Get a black shoe and a brown shoe as well because nobody wants to wear the same color every day.

91. Fashion sneakers

They are a little dressy and sporty, can be worn with jeans, chinos, cargo pants and sometimes work for dressy occasions. Sneakers are available in huge variety, so they’re more talked about in the media. Remember, sneakers aren’t the only shoe type you need to own.

92. Dress boots

They come in a wide variety and have a different place than dress shoes. Not all of them are professional, but you can wear them on most occasions.

93. Chukkas

Generally, they are more casual. Dress them up with jeans, suits, slacks, and business casual. They are usually meant to be worn in the summer or similar environments.

94. Chelsea boots

One of the most versatile boots you can own. They come in casual and dressy styles, so can be sometimes pulled off with a suit. Look out for the ones that don’t have much detail and are simple in design.

95. Slip-on

Monk Strap shoes and loafers are the popular options. They are versatile, simple, casual, comfortable and come in a wide variety. From single to double strap and casual to dress, monks are available in various styles.

96. Sandals are for kids

Wear at your own risk.

97. Sports shoes in black or white colors look the best

And most versatile.

98. Regularly clean and polish your shoes

The shine of your shoes is like respect. Better shine, more respect. You must clean them if you don’t want to look nasty, sloppy and messy. Here’s a tutorial:

99. Insert a cedar shoe tree when you remove the shoes

They will keep your shoe moist-free, smell-free and in proper shape. Avoid the plastic ones because they only keep the shoe in shape. And remember, polishing is not everything.

cedar shoe tree

100. When the heels of the shoes wear out

Don’t buy new shoes if the old ones are high-quality. Instead, send them to the manufacturer or a shoe repair shop for refurbishing. Abandon if they not really high-quality. No excuse for cheap looking shoes.

101. Go sock-less

It is fun to get creative and should be done casually, not too often.

14 Tips to Match & Style Different Types of Ties

STYLE TIPSTIE

102. The tie material

Almost all of the ties are made out of silk. It is a luxury fabric, which comes in different qualities. A durable tie with a bit of elasticity and high tensile strength is what you should look for. As the tie gets tied hundreds of times, it should get back to its original shape. Other less popular materials include wool, polyester, and satin.

103. Do not iron or wash your silk tie

It will lose its strength and permanently change its shape.

104. Notice the little details about tie

Apart from the quality of material, the stitching methods used to make a tie also matters. High-quality ties have wool/cotton in the inner lining, the slip stitch loose, a bar tack on the back, two keepers (one keeper is fine if it’s well-stitched) and a Bias cut (at a 45-degree angle).

105. Solid black tie

A must have. It is versatile and stylish forever.

106. Tie length

Length of a tie is not so important unless it’s tied. A tie should exactly reach your waistband.

107. Don’t wear a tie & pocket square that came together as a set

They are meant to be coordinated, not matched. Some people ruin it by exactly matching the same pattern and the same color like they were made from a single piece of fabric. Don’t do that.

108. Bow-tie

Looks special and people notice it. I’m sure you will always get compliments on that. Many people don’t even know how to tie a bow-tie. Here’s how:

109. Learn to tie a tie

Go for a Windsor when the tie is not a skinny one and make sure to wear it with a wide spread collar. Other great options are Nicky, Four in Hand Knot and the easiest one, Oriental knot.

110. The dimple is essential when wearing a silk tie

Takes the style game to another level when done properly. Here’s how:

111. Avoid the Eldredge & Trinity

Takes too much time and is kind of funny.

112. Knit ties look best with Four in Hand Knot

Windsor knot would be a little bulky, that’s why.

113. Match lapel & Tie

Match in terms of size and fabric. A good practice is to match the width of both. If the width of lapel is 3 inches, then wear a tie that is about 3 inches wide.

114. Match tie knot to collar size

That means Windsor knot will work with a wide spread collar and Nicky or Four in Hand knot with a straight point collar.

115. Funny ties

15 Ways to Color Coordinate Your Outfit

COORDINATION TIPSCOLOR

116. Safe colors

Start with the safest colors, i.e., white, black, blue and gray. You can never go wrong. They look great on everybody and you can pair them with ease.

117. Contrast your colors right, according to your body color tone

If your skin and hair color contrast each other, then wear pieces of clothes that also contrast in color.

For example, light skin and black hair (high contrast) work great with black pants and a white shirt. On the other side, light skin and light hair (low contrast) pair great with light gray and white. Men with low contrast level should wear light colors and avoid dark colors.

Here’s a great illustration:

dress your skin tone
Click the image to zoom or click here to see the full size (opens in a new tab).

118. Match your patterns right

Wear up to three patterns in a single outfit as long as all of them contrast each other. Means, they should be different in pattern size and density. For example, the thickness of pinstripes and the space between them should be different in the shirt, tie and suit.

Type of Pinstripe Suits

119. Buy a new pattern every time

Avoid repeating patterns that you already have, to avoid matching issues. Remember, don’t replace the basic solid colors.

120. Wear colors that compliment your body size

Bright colors make you appear larger and the darker ones are slimmer. Wear light-colored pants and dark colored shirt if your upper body is larger and lower skinny; and vice versa.

121. Wear black & brown together

Some people don’t think so, but they look great.

122. Denim jackets with jeans

You can wear them together, but remember, they should contrast.

123. Match your shoes & belt

Match in terms of color, leather, texture, and shine. Like they are made from the same material. Better yet, match your bag and gloves too.

matching belt and shoes

124. Match socks with pants

If you are confused, match similar colors (or get dark colors anyway). Blue pants with blue socks, brown with brown, etc. If you are wearing dress shoes, match with dress socks. Doing so will also make you look taller.

125. Avoid white socks with dress pants

They look weird.

126. No socks with holes at any cost

Throw them. You never know when you’ll have to take your shoes off in public.

127. Avoid running shoes with formal pants/jeans

Disgusting.

128. Never match a black sports coat with a black pant

It doesn’t work.

129. Pink is not always feminine

For some reason, men think that pink color is a girly color. Actually, it’s not, when done smartly. You can wear a pink tie, a shirt, or a pocket square, but never together. It will show that you’re powerful enough to take such risks in public.

130. Brown shoes with navy blue

A great option.

21 Ways to Accessorize Like a Boss

STYLE TIPSACCESSORIES

131. Wristwatch

A must-have, possibly the best accessory you can wear. They level up your style, instantly. But, don’t wear a cheap watch (at least the ones that look cheap). It is better to avoid wearing any watch unless it looks good quality and elegant.

132. Analog vs Digital Wristwatch

Digital ones usually have a sporty look. Wear the analog watch (or if it’s a smartwatch) rest of the times.

133. Glasses/shades

They work for both function and style. They are good for your eyes and makes you attractive. Read this post to find the best pair for your face shape.

134. Tie bar

This little detail often stands you out from the other men in the room. So, why not rock it?

135. Pocket square

A simple, subtle and classic accessory that can turn a good outfit into a great outfit. A white pocket square is something that every man must own. Remember, there is no wrong way to fold a pocket square (people over the internet are so crazy with a number of folds). Here are a few:

136. Cufflinks

Another subtle detail that adds dimension to your suit jacket. Invest in high-quality ones, so they last a lifetime.

137. Scarf

A great way to add detail to your outfit, and to stay warm. Some think they aren’t fashionable. Are you kidding me?

138. Hat/Cap

Everybody needs a cool baseball hat because it’s casual, stylish and protects your hair and you from sunlight. But, they are not meant to be worn indoors.

139. Pen

When people notice you have a pen, you are perceived as a responsible and confident man.

140. Wallet

People do notice when taken out. But still, carry a slim wallet. Big, bulging ones don’t look good.

141. Jewelry

Like chains, necklace, earrings, rings, bracelets, etc. They are all cool.

142. Don’t go crazy with jewelry items

Gold, silver, platinum, and steel are usually used to make jewelry but don’t mix them in one outfit. Use one metal at once.

143. Don’t throw everything inside your wallet

The sole purpose is to carry cash, not your laboratory. It destroys the look of pants. Only credit cards are okay. That means no receipts, coupons, tickets, keys, and visiting cards.

144. Manbag

It is not a backpack, not even a briefcase. A small size bag used to carry your daily essentials. Not laptop and files, but other stuff like mobile phone, headphones, keys, wallet, charger, etc.

man bag

145. Leather bag for the office

Manbag or a rucksack bag is not meant to be used for the office. Invest in a proper high-quality leather bag.

146. Cologne/perfume/deodorant

It pleases your mood and the people around you. Apply a little and instantly feel more confident. Remember, not too much. You want to be discovered, not announced.

147. Zany socks aren’t professional

Especially the ones with clowns on them.

148. Wear rings – one per hand

If you want, go experiment. Lil Wayne does that, I guess. (His songs are awesome, by the way.)

149. Sunglasses are meant to be worn outside only

Must be removed upon entering a building. Understand?

150. Don’t use first & last holes of a belt

Use the rest of them to appear clean and tidy.

151. Tactical phone holsters

If you know what they are, avoid them. Seriously.

Your Turn

I know this is a long post, even if you follow some of the tips mentioned, you will see a huge difference in the way you see dressing and style.
